Hola estoy empezando a ver tus videos de alias y estan muy interesantes tengo una pregunta por que no se puede dar extend surface a una superficie que fue creada por un offset, no se si me eplico, Osea si tu das offset a una superficie y despues quieres darle extend a alguna orilla de esa superficie ya no te deja. Thank you so much for this video. I've been trying to do concept car for a couple of months now, and being screwing up big time. This video is the only one that address the core issues. The initial 2D sketch has to be made accurately by someone first before it can be translated into 3D and surfacing. Blueprints on the internet are NOT concept sketches. They already exist. And that's exactly what concept is all about.

any ideas how to make it work from alias on Windows (in parallels) to blender on Mac? 😂🙏

Nice video. Thanks a lot for sharing it. One thing I can't understand in data trees, how matching data in data trees of different depth works. It's really confusing. Sometimes it acts like cross-referencing, and sometimes like matching by the 'longest list'. But I don't understand why it's different for various cases

Can't seem to import your hotkeys into 2024.1? Maybe I don't fully understand how to do this or the file isn't fully compatible with 2024.1.

Weird pairing though? Is there much need for alias>blender, considering anyone paying the stratospheric sub fees for alias would probably send to Maya or high end rendering app?

In 2024.1, importing the 2022 pref set .aps file from handlebar's website, none of the hotkeys get imported. The marking menus, interface colors and prefs do import. I was more interested in the hotkey setup workflow. Not sure why this process isn't importing all hotkeys. Any idea anyone?

Alias Studio is a briliant piece of software, more than 30 years but never gets old !

I used to work for Scania Trucks in Sweden. I was paid £500/day as a designer in 2014 and the British Alias modellers were getting more, all paid through an agency called Futura. This is fairly good pay for the design world. Some Alias modeller 'contractors' had been there for 10 years and earning 5x as much as the Swedes, who were 'employed' to do the same job. So if you want to be a contractor you go through an agency who sort everything out for you and in return you get paid way more than if not, so in that situation it wasn't a problem at all. I suppose if you want to look at skills vs pay you'd be better off being a lawyer or doctor or trader, none of which are as difficult as transportation design in my opinion (knowing people in those industries and their abilities and level of skill/knowledge for the job).

Do all surfaces in alias need to have 4 sides, not 3?

Lol as an automotive designer myself I interpret that sketch completely differently in the area where the side surface meets the glass

why did you make the top of the roof tangent and not curvature?

Thanks for your tips and time but these are not ball corners. Your corners have 4 rads/boundaries whereas a ball corner has 6 rads/boundaries. I make my own but you need more than just one surface.
